The EPP congress in France

On May 30 and 31, the European Pig Producers' Association held its annual congress in Nantes on the theme “ How to engage the consumer”. The event offered a unique opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the pork industry. Cooperl supported the event as a gold sponsor.

Three days of sharing and discovery

The congress took place over three days, combining field visits and technical presentations. Participants had the opportunity to visit companies in the Grand Ouest region. In Lamballe, for example, Cooperl teams visited the Bulle Cooperl Environnement and the Cooperl Equipements showroom.

In early April, the Montfort-sur-Meu (35) site was inaugurated following modernization work.

With 15 million invested (including 2 million financed by the French government's stimulus plan), our cooperative was able to present the results of this work:

- installation of new carcass splitting robots,

- replacement of electrical anaesthesia by carbon dioxide stunning.

“This anaesthetizing technique not only improves the conditions under which animals are stunned, but also enables us to meet Anglo-Saxon specifications, thus opening up new commercial prospects for us overseas”, concludes Samuel Briens, site manager.

The new facilities provide employees with ergonomic workstations and reduced noise levels (less noise because the animals are quieter).

The press, local councillors and the Board of Directors all came away from the visit impressed by the new facilities.

On Thursday February 22nd, Cooperl's member breeders from Gaec Ty Moguel in Mahalon (29) were visited by Marc Fesneau, the French Minister for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty.

He came to Brittany to talk about reconstruction following the Ciaran and Domingos storms , agri-environmental measures, the agricultural orientation and future bill...

Benoit and Éric's farm is committed to animal welfare, with the Porc Bien-Être (non-castration) and Porc Sans Antibiotique (no antibiotics from birth) specifications, and to the environment. The farm has been designed to promote a sustainable diet, and to produce green energy on site using photovoltaic panels.

Following the tour of the farm, the Minister held discussions with the various professional agricultural organizations in the Finistère department (Brittany, France) on the problems encountered, the work undertaken both locally and nationally, and the measures announced by the Government.

At the end of October and beginning of November, the Cooperl teams brought together the biggest players in pork processing in Asia in our main countries of operation: China, Thailand and Vietnam.

We shared our cooperative's vision and know-how in genetics, nutrition, animal health, environment and livestock equipment.

With almost 600 participants gathered at these 3 events, the discussions helped to refine our knowledge of the international context and, above all, to strengthen our ties with our customers and prospects in the livestock and processing sector.

After four and a half years of work, the new Combioval was built at Cooperl Environment in Lamballe (22)!

Since 2008, the Combioval workshop has recovered, after degreasing the water in our wastewater treatment plant, a co-product: flotation greases, which are greasy waste from our factories or partner companies.

These flotation fats enter the Combioval and are concentrated there. The workshop makes it possible to obtain Combioval grease, made up of 95% grease. It is then recovered in the form of biofuel to power our steam production tools or is used to supply the production chain of our biofuel.

Anuga was held from Saturday October 7 until Wednesday October 11 in Cologne, Germany for the 37th edition!

Cooperl Cured Meat and Cooperl Meat teams had the pleasure of welcoming our customers to our stand and introducing them to - or rediscovering - our cooked and dried meats and charcuterie through tastings.

We look forward to seeing you next year from October 19 to 23 at the SIAL show in Paris!

This year again, the unmissable event for all livestock professionals was full! For this 37th edition of the SPACE tradeshow, marked by the dynamics of the world of breeding, attendance is equivalent to last year with no less than 90,000 professional visitors including more than 8,000 international visitors from 120 countries.

Among the 1,200 exhibitors from all sectors: animal food and nutrition, breeding equipment, buildings, animal health, milking equipment, genetics, agrobiology, energy, aquaculture suppliers... the teams from Cooperl and its subsidiaries : Farmapro, Nucléus, Calipro, Vereijken and CRD worked for 3 days to make this show a success.

We took the opportunity to interview our employees and our member breeders about our corporate actions to carry out our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitments...

Our export teams were present in Amsterdam on May 23 and 24 at the international private label exhibition organized by the PLMA association! This year, the show welcomed more than 16,000 professionals from 126 countries.

Our team highlighted the different know-how of the cooperative while offering to taste our cooked and dried charcuterie from Cooperl Salaisons. Thanks to Anthony Joubert, our culinary advisor, for the implementation!
