Modernization work at Montfort-sur-Meu (35)

In early April, the Montfort-sur-Meu (35) site was inaugurated following modernization work.

With 15 million invested (including 2 million financed by the French government's stimulus plan), our cooperative was able to present the results of this work:

- installation of new carcass splitting robots,

- replacement of electrical anaesthesia by carbon dioxide stunning.

This anaesthetizing technique not only improves the conditions under which animals are stunned, but also enables us to meet Anglo-Saxon specifications, thus opening up new commercial prospects for us overseas”, concludes Samuel Briens, site manager.

The new facilities provide employees with ergonomic workstations and reduced noise levels (less noise because the animals are quieter).

The press, local councillors and the Board of Directors all came away from the visit impressed by the new facilities.
